Ramadan Health Tips
1. Take an Advice from Your Physician:
First of all before the arrival of Ramadan you should get your body properly examined. In this way you would know what your lacks are and you can better take care of yourself. Visit your physician and follow his advice. In this way you can cope up with any vitamin or mineral deficiency. You can also know about any hidden disease. So do not ignore consulting your physician even if you do not have any disease apparently you should see you doctor.
2. Make an Eating Schedule:
Ramadan teaches us how to act discipline even with our eating habits. You should keep this thing in your mind that you are going to stay without food for quite a long time like 15 to 17 hours. So you should make such a plan for your diet that will give you maximum energy.
3. First, Vital and Only Meal of the Day:
Sahoor is the first meal that you take in before keeping the fast. You can eat just before the sunrise. Some people find it naturally very difficult to get up early and eat but you should keep this thing in your mind that this is the only meal that is going to provide you energy to survive the whole day. Eat healthy food rich in carbohydrates, proteins and fibers. These are low digesting foods and will make you less hungry. Some people skip Sahoor meals and thus destroy their health.
4. Prefer Cool Environment:
Ramadan in summers is very hard because you need so much fluid which you lose in the form of sweat. Stay in cool environment and avoid any physical activities which make you tired and make you thirsty because you don't want to die thirsty or break your fast before proper time.
5. Moderation is Always Best:
Moderate way is the way to success. Do not let your stomach stay empty or dehydrated and even do not overeat. Both these conditions are fatal and damaging to your health. Eat healthy and proper food that will help you to stay energetic.
6. Avoid Caffeine:
Caffeine in any form is forbidden. Do not consume tea, coffee or cigarette. Caffeine damages your nerves and its effect is even severe in the month of Ramadan. Instead of caffeine use food that is rich in fibers like fruits and seeds.
7. Water:
Vital is one of the vital elements for life. Your body contains 70% of water and other minerals. Dehydration can be so severe that it can even lead to death. So both time during Sahoor meals and while breaking the fast in Iftar meals drink plenty of water to hydrate your body.
8. Fried and Fatty Foods:
Do not get yourself involved in fried or fatty foods like fries, samosas, pakoras etc. With meals you should also go for workouts but do not do hard exercises. Just do such exercises that increase metabolic activity in your body.
9. Multivitamin Supplements:
Before starting the fast you should take extra multivitamin supplements with your meals so that you do not fell the victim of their shortage. With all these you must take care of your teeth. Brush your teeth after every meal. By following these tips you can stay healthy during the whole month.
