WORKSHOP ON DATA ANALYSIS USING SPSS (28TH AND 29TH NOVEMBER 2015) IN KARACHI.

Shaheen Research Group  is organizing a 2 Day Hands on SPSS workshop to familiarize the workshop participants with the potential applications of the powerful Statistical Analysis on SPSS. The workshops is organized in Karachi on (28th - 29th November, 2015). The workshop will introduce participants to Practical Data Analysis using the Statistical Software Package SPSS.

OBJECTIVE OF THE TRAINING

The workshop will orient you with the fundamentals of SPSS and develop skills of

• Selection of appropriate statistical Tests
  
• Steps to run the selected Statistical Test
  
• Interpretation of Results
  
• Presentation of Results in the Manuscript or Thesis in the standardized format.
  

WORKSHOP FORMAT

This will be an interactive, but structured training session covering the topics outlined in the programme. The workshop is designed on Task Based Instructional Design. Initially, a task on SPSS will be performed by the instructor and later candidates will be facilitated to perform specific task individually, on dataset saved in the candidate hard drive. Each candidate will be provided with a number of datasets and specific tasks to perform.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Medical/ Dental Students/ House Officer, Postgraduate Trainees, Mphil/Phd Scholars, Senior Faculty members from Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Social Sciences, Education and Management. Moreover, Data Managers from NGO will also find this workshop extremely helpful.

WORKSHOP FACILITATORS

Dr Waqar H. Kazmi

MD, MS Epidemiology Biostatistics (Tufts, Boston)

Dr. Waqar H. Kazmi is Principal, Professor of Nephrology and Director Research at Karachi Medical Dental College and Karachi Institute of Heart Disease. Earlier from 2004 till 2007 he also worked as director research and Phd program, Dow University of Health Sciences. Dr. Kazmi has been appraised at various national and international forums and received various awards, the most prominent and reputed being the Individual National Research Service Award (2000), National Institute of Health, Bethesda, Maryland, USA for research on "Pre-Dialysis Care and Its Impact on Outcomes among Patients with End-Stage Renal Disease." Dr. Kazmi is a reviewer for reputed international journals and recently authored a book "Basic Epidemiology and Biostatistics" published by Jaypee.

 

Dr. Muhammad Abdul Samad

M.B.B.S, MPH (Aberdeen), MMED (Dundee)

The co-facilitator for this workshop is Dr. M A Samad who has done MPH from Aberdeen University, and MMED from University of Dundee. He has worked in the Health Intelligence Department and as a Clinical Researcher in NHS Grampian, UK.
