ISLAMABAD: Early television dramas of Pakistan dramas had always attracted the viewers because of its story, script and direction but besides these strong points the catalyst for the success were remained their legendary actresses.

Pakistani dramas are not only famous in Pakistan but also on aired in other neighboring countries. A famous drama of Pakistan Television Waris Directed by Ghazanfar Ali aired with Chinese dubbing on China's national television.

Indians were also persuaded by the immense popularity of Pakistani dramas. Humsafar and zindagi gulazr ha were aired on Indian channels.

Rohi Bano  born on August 10 1951 in Karachi. She was a pioneer of Pakistani drama industry, she works with Rahat Kazmi, Talat Hussain other top heroes of that time. Some of the classic dramas of Rohi Bano were Kiran Kahani, Zard Gulab, Kanch ka Pul.

She was awarded with Pride Performance Award for her contribution in drama industry.

Shehnaz Sheikh is a Pakistani Television actress and host, born in Lahore Pakistan. Sheikh made her debut in 1980 with drama serial Balila which was written by Shoaib Hashmi .

She has appeared in drama serials, such asTanhaian Ankahi and in a show Uncle Sargam. After such enormous success in TV dramas, she left TV industry in the mid-1990s and since retired.

In November 2005, she along with her husband worked with FAME, a welfare organization to help victims of 8 October 2005 earthquake in Northern Pakistan.

Tahira Wasti  was born in Sarghoda in 1944. She started working on Pakistan Television in 1968 from a drama serial Jaib Qutra based on a novel by Sadaat Hassan Minto.

She appeared in a number of dramas until 90s, most of them have become classics of PTV such as KashkolJaangloos and Daldal.

Her prominent personality made her renown for regal roles suitable for representing royal, feudal or upper-class families, as in plays like GarnataTipu SultanShaheen and Aakhri Chatan.

Khalda Riyasat was born on January 1st 1953. Riyasat earliest drama was the detective series, Naamdaar. Her career took off with Bandish during the late 1970s.

In another popular venture, she acted alongside actor Moin Akhtar in the cheek-in-tongue long play, Half-Playt, by Anwar Maqsood.

Some of her notable plays include, Panah, Bandish, Dhoop, DeewarKhoya Hua Aadmi, Silver Jubilee,Tabeer, Ab Tum Jasakte Ho and Parosi among many others. She died of cancer on 26 August 1996.

Sania has been working in theatre and television for over two decades.

She got boost from drama kalo written by Bano Qudsia. She also appeared in classic dramas such as Buta from toba taig signh, Neen, Bulandeon pa basera and Kali Ankhen.

She has since done over 50 serials and around the same number of assorted plays
