[HM:248545] Software to reduce Eye Strain While Computing

ProtectYourVision Reduces Eye Strain While Computing [Web]

Have tired, sore and watery eyes after working for long hours on the computer? You may even develop a temporary condition known as Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) if you work on the computer without taking breaks.  ProtectYourVision, a web app, automatically alerts you and sends you desktop notifications when it's time for you to take a break and to give your eyes some rest. It also provides you with some nice eye gymnastics that you can practice in order to reduce the tension in your eyes. Set a reminder on EVO whenever you start working on your computer. ProtectYourVision comes with three different themes and two modes for reminders. Furthermore, it also offers desktop notifications for Chrome and Firefox browsers.

The website has five basic options, namely Choose theme, Modes, Eyes gymnastics, About and Contact. You can set three different themes, which include Minimal, Sunny and Space. In addition to that, there are three different modes you can choose from, ranging from 20-20 to 60-5 to custom.

For 20-20, EVO sets your break time after every 20 minutes, whereby you can close your eyes for 20 seconds. 60-5 is the mode that reminds you to take a break after every one hour and you can take a break of up to five minutes. Custom mode is the easiest as it lets you set your own break duration and frequency.
